Everything You Need to Know About Michelle Roque

IMG_4146.JPGA journalist walks into a bar only to sit down and have a drink with the female flag football sensation of our generation. If you don’t believe me check out Michelle Roque’s new highlight video below. But for now, I want to share with you our conversation. This interview will answer all questions that any man has ever had about her, every bit of advice that motivates Michelle for the girls that aspire to be like her, and just about every fun detail of what’s going on in her life right now.

I met Michelle at a bar in Tallahassee, FL called The Brass Tap to conduct an interview that I’ve never done before. I didn’t bring a camera or a scratch pad. I brought my full attention as I got to know her, for her and not for what the internet portrays her to essentially be.

Yes, Michelle Roque is that totally hot DG from Florida State University who could teach the boys at UCF a thing or two about how to play football, but she is also so much more than that. I arranged to meet Michelle who was so nice to sit down and chat with me. Usually when I meet with my interview subjects, I tend to meet at a coffee house or Panera Bread. I knew she would be a good person to interview when she said, “or we could go to Brass Tap, I could use a beer.” So, there we met.IMG_3774.JPG

When I sat down next to her I noticed that the paper label that once encircled her pomegranate beer had been picked off and placed into a tiny pile next to her bottle which made me feel comfortable because I knew she was a lot like me. Michelle definitely has a presence that makes you feel welcome. She gave me a warm smile as I sat down and our conversation took off from there.

I learned that Michelle Roque lives by a motto that basically has enabled her to do the unthinkable in anything she sets her mind to. “I grew up playing football since I was 4 years old with boys. I grew up a tom boy and then all of a sudden I blossomed into this flag football playing sorority girl.” She was told all of her life that girls don’t play football. She is one athletically talented girl if you ask me. It’s also a known fact that the Delta Gamma sorority at Florida State is rumored to have some of the most beautiful, girly sorority women in the United States. Michelle Roque, once known as the tomboy, embodies that woman. Who says a girl in heels can’t lace up the cleats?

Michelle picked up a football at a time in her life when society told her that she should be picking up a Barbie doll. But, when she didn’t have a football in her hand, she was sitting at a piano exploring all of the rich melodies that it’s song had to offer. Over this past year, Michelle has jumped into songwriting. A couple past experiences have really influenced the lyrics and melodies that have suddenly came to be through patience. Once she gets all of her ideas for her music sorted out, she plans on releasing an album. Is there anything that this girl can’t do?IMG_4145.JPG
